Choa Chu Kang BTO: There’s Better Options, Unless You Really Want To Stay In Choa Chu Kang

The first thing we noticed about this Choa Chu Kang launch is that it’s really far from anywhere. While some might point out that it’s within walking distance to the Keat Hong LRT, it’s really nowhere near anything else. Even the closest shopping centre is like 3 streets away. Convenience is really not the strength of this plot in Choa Chu Kang. So, unless you are really keen on staying in Choa Chu Kang, we think it’s better to avoid this upcoming launch.
Tengah BTO: Good Location But You Need To Sacrifice On Mobility In Early Years

At first glance, this BTO in Tengah might seem like it gives you good accessibility. After all, it is so close to the upcoming MRT in Tengah Plantation and Tengah Park. Well, if you really do your research, you will know that these 2 MRTs will only be up and running in 2027. This means that when your BTO completes in 2024/2025, you will be without an MRT service for at least 2-3 years. Unless you drive, this can be a huge pain in the ass if you have to keep travelling to Choa Chu Kang or Jurong East to catch the train.
But this “mixed” development will be one that can draw interest from buyers given that it has a Polyclinic and neighbourhood centre right at your doorstep. Once the MRT service is ready to go, you could be in for a potential cash-in since you will be closing in on your minimum occupation period (MOP) of 5 years.
Woodlands BTO: Two Plots With Very Different Access To Amenities
Most people have a pre-conceived notion that Woodlands is an estate that is very inconvenient. Well, that’s not entirely true. It really depends on which part of Woodlands you stay in. For the upcoming BTO in Woodlands, you can find yourself with two very good locations in Woodlands.
The first location is very near Woodlands MRT station. You will have access to all the facilities and amenities at Woodlands MRT station such as Causeway Point. With the upcoming Woodlands Regional Centre, this location also has the potential of being used as a rental unit once you have hit the 5-year minimum occupation period (MOP). Upon the opening of the Thomson East-Coast Line (TEL) in the next few years, connectivity of your home in Woodlands will also be improved.
The second location is in the middle of a few schools at Woodlands Drive 17. Of course, it does pale in comparison to the first location. If you didn’t manage to get the first location, don’t despair. The good thing is that this location is right beside the Woodlands South MRT station on the TEL. You are just one stop away from the Woodlands Hub on the TEL.
